i.            What is cash flow forecasting?

ANSWER:

The cash flow forecast is a financial planning tool that shows the predicted flow of cash in and out of a project each month. Forecasting will enable project manager to plan ahead so that they can anticipate periods of cash shortage and take corrective action.

ii.            Define version control?

ANSWER:

Version control is a category of processes and tools designed to keep track of multiple different versions of software, content, documents, websites and other information in development. The purpose of version control is ensuring that content changes under development go as planned.

iii.            What is project mitigation?

ANSWER:

Risk mitigation is a strategy to prepare for and reduced or eliminated the effects of unacceptable threats to the project.

iv.            What is resource scheduling?

ANSWER:

Resource scheduling is a collection of techniques used to calculate the resources, required to deliver the work and when they will be required. Scheduling resources ensures:

·         Efficient and effective utilization;

·         Confidence that the schedule is realistic;

·         Early identification of resource capacity bottlenecks and conflicts.

v.            What is version control?

ANSWER:

A Statement of Work (SOW) is a project management document which describes the work that is required of an external contractor, vendor, or supplier.  It can either be included within the contract documents or simply be a reference for the project management team.

vii.            Write name of any two resource scheduling techniques?

ANSWER:

1.      Resource Histograms

2.      Resource Smoothing.

viii.            How we define time estimation for project?

ANSWER:

1.      Create a list of all the activities that must be completed in the project.

2.      Using historical data or experts opinions, calculate time for each activity.

3.      KLOC can be used to estimate time for project.

4.      Spare some time for emergency and accidents.

ANSWER:

The Incremental model is an example of an evolutionary life cycle model. The Incremental model divided the development life cycle into multiple linear sequences, each of which produces an increment of the final software product. In this model, the software product is developed in builds.

xi.            What are stakeholders?

ANSWER:

Stakeholders are those with any interest in project’s outcome. They are typically the members of a project team, project managers, executives, project sponsors, customers, and users. Stakeholders are people who are invested in the project and who will be affected by project at any point along the way, and their input can directly impact the outcome.

xii.            Define activity?

ANSWER:

An activity is one stage of a project management plan. Each activity consists of one or more actions that, upon completion, will lead to the next project stage.

xiv.            How we control the quality of project?

ANSWER:

Quality Control is the process of monitoring and recording results of executing the quality activities to assess performance and recommend necessary changes.  In short, it is the measurement of defects.

xv.            What is extreme programing?

ANSWER:

Extreme Programming (XP) is an agile software development framework that aims to produce higher quality software, and higher quality of life for the development team. XP is the most specific of the agile frameworks regarding appropriate engineering practices for software development.

xvi.            What are software matrices? 

ANSWER:

Software matrices is a measure of software characteristics which are quantifiable or countable. Software metrics are important for many reasons, including measuring software performance, planning work items, measuring productivity, and many other uses.
